Technical writers are responsible for creating and writing various types of documentation. Documentation creation may include; how-to guides, references, manuals, or instructions. Technical writers often work as part of a writing or project development team. Well-written technical documents usually follow formal standards or guidelines. Technical documentation comes in many styles and formats, depending on the medium and subject area. Printed and online documentation may differ in various ways, but still adhere to largely identical guidelines for prose, information structure, and layout.
Job Responsibilities:
- Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures or advertisements.
- Meet with customers, vendors, executives, or publishers to establish technical specifications
- Create user documentation for a variety of material
- Prepare charts, graphs, or forms
- Write or upgrade policies and procedures
- Document and/or describe workflow, job descriptions, or task and standards
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Exceptional knowledge of the English Language
- Knowledge of writing style standards
